Bulb Bowls

Pöppelmann TEKU® T20 bulb bowls are injection-moulded plastic planting bowls designed primarily for flowering bulbs and other small plants such as alpines, bonsai, succulents or low-growing annuals. They’re part of the TEKU® “T” series of bowls, sized by diameter (in this case, ~20 cm) and widely used in garden centres, nurseries, and by home gardeners for cultivation and display.

The T20 bowl is approximately 20cm in diameter and ~8.7cm deep, typically holds about 1.65 litres of growing medium, making it suitable for small bulbs and compact plants. Made from rigid, injection-moulded plastic, these bowls are lightweight yet strong, designed for repeated seasonal use. 

The base usually includes multiple drainage holes, helping excess water drain away to prevent root rot and promote healthy growth. At the same time, small feet elevate the bowl slightly to improve air circulation under the pot. They have a decorative outer surface and a rolled lip that adds strength and a finished look — suitable for display in greenhouses, on patios, or in retail settings. 

Ideal for bulbs (like tulips or daffodils), herbs, alpines, succulents, and bonsai, these bowls work well for both cultivation and presentation.

TEKU® bulb bowls are injection-moulded plastic planting bowls designed for flowering bulbs and small plants. They’re part of Pöppelmann’s TEKU® range of horticultural containers used by growers and gardeners for cultivation and display. 

What plants are they best suited for?

They’re ideal for flowering bulbs (e.g., tulips, daffodils), alpine plants, herbs, bonsai, succulents and other low-growing plants — essentially anything that benefits from a shallow, wide growing space.

What is the material and build quality?

Yes —  The TEKU® bulb bowls include multiple drainage holes to help prevent overwatering and to support healthy root growth.

How do the drainage and ventilation features work?

In addition to holes, many bowls have small feet under the base to raise them slightly and improve air circulation beneath the pot, helping with drainage and reducing waterlogging.

Are the bowls stackable for storage?

Yes — The TEKU® bulb bowls are designed to nest inside one another for efficient stacking and storage when not in use.

Can I use them for seeds or seedlings?

Yes — although they’re optimised for bulbs and small ornamentals, they can also support seedlings or small plants where shallow, wide rooting isn’t a limitation.
